Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 10:00 AM NST 13 December 2013 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 951 mb located south of Greenland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday low 955 mb located over eastern Labrador
At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 1009 mb located south of New Brunswick.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 1007 mb located over Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:56 AM NST 13 December 2013 A deep and large low pressure system south of Greenland will slowly
drift northwestwards today and Saturday. Gale to storm force
westerlies over northeastern waters and strong to gale force
westerlies over remaining waters will persist throughout the forecast
Additionally a small low pressure system will form south of Nova
Scotia this morning and track over the Southern Grand Banks tonight.
Over the southernmost waters of the Grand Banks, strong to gale force
westerlies will intensify to storm force overnight and then diminish
to gale force Saturday morning.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, Southeastern Grand Banks -
southern half and the Southwestern Grand Banks - southern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
