At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line east-west over
northern Labrador Coast.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over Funk Island Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday ridge located over Maine.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:59 AM NST 8 December 2013 An intense low pressure system will remain nearly stationary over the
East Labrador Sea today before drifting slowly eastward to lie south
of Greenland by Monday. A trough of low pressure over the North
Labrador Coast will sweep across the Labrador Sea today to lie over
the Belle Isle Bank by this evening. Strong to gale force westerlies
will persist over the marine district today and most of Monday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Strait of Belle Isle - western half and the Northeast
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast - north of
Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island
