Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:18 PM AST 23 November 2014 A ridge of high pressure approaching from the west will cross the
marine district tonight. Strong to gale force northwesterlies well
ahead of the ridge diminish to light in its vicinity.
On Monday an intense low pressure system will move into Western
Quebec and give strong to gale force southerlies across the district.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
Marine waters except eastern shore..Sable..East Scotian Slope..
Fourchu..Banquereau..And Laurentian Fan.
Outlook for the start up of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery:
Tuesday..Southwesterly 25 to 35 knots.
Wednesday..Westerly 20 to 25 knots diminishing to 15 to 20 near noon
and to light in the afternoon.
Thursday..Wind northeast 15 to 20 knots diminishing to northeast 10
to 15 late in the day.
