Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NDT 27 August 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. NDT today deepening low 990 mb located off the Mid
Labrador Coast.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Thursday departing low 983 mb located southeast
of the East Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 a.m. NDT today building ridge located over northern Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Thursday ridge located over Labrador.

At 9:30 a.m. NDT Thursday intensifying trough located west of
Greenland.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:48 AM NDT 27 August 2014 A low pressure system off the Mid Labrador Coast will track eastward
across the South Labrador Sea this morning then away from the
district later today and tonight. Gale force northeasterlies can be
expected just north of the low with strong to gale force
northwesterlies expected in its wake. Winds will diminish tonight.
On Thursday, gale force northwesterlies will develop over the East
Labrador Sea as a trough extending from the low strengthens west of
Greenland.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast - Hopedale and south, South
Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea.
