Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 27 November 2014 Today Tonight and Friday At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located north of the Northwest
Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Friday weakening trough located northeast of
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line east-west over
the South Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today low 992 mb located over southwestern
Nova Scotia.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Friday departing low 988 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:14 AM NST 27 November 2014 A trough will move northeastward to lie northeast of the Labrador Sea
overnight tonight. Strong to gale force westerly winds over northern
waters will diminish today as the trough tracks north of the marine
district.

Additionally, an approaching low pressure system will track
northeastward across Newfoundland this evening. Strong to gale force
northerly winds are expected over the South Labrador Coast tonight
and Friday morning.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
South Labrador Coast and the North Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the East Labrador Sea.
