By 3:30 p.m. NDT Saturday low 990 mb located over Banquereau.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today trough from 996 mb low located on a line
east-west over the southern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Saturday trough from 990 mb low located on a line
northeast-southwest over the northern Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Belle Isle Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Saturday departing ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:32 PM NDT 24 October 2014 A low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will slowly track
northeastward to lie over Banquereau on Saturday. Strong to gale
force northeasterly winds will develop overnight over western waters
ahead of this feature.
Meanwhile, a trough extending from this low currently over the
Southern Grand Banks will slowly track north to lie over the Northern
Grand Banks tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterly winds will
develop Saturday ahead of this trough.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast - north of Cape St.
Francis, Northeast Coast - Cape St. John and south, Funk Island Bank
- southern half and Northern Grand Banks - northern half.
