Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 3:00 AM AST 13 December 2013 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. AST today quasi-stationary ridge located over the
eastern United States.
At 7:00 a.m. AST today low located over the western Marine District.
By 11:00 p.m. AST tonight low located southeast of Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:54 AM AST 13 December 2013 A general west to northwesterly flow over the marine district will
continue today and tonight for the marine district. Strong to gale
force west to northwesterly winds are expected throughout most of the
forecast period. Winds will abate temporarily as a weak trough of low
pressure tracks across the marine district today. Winds will then
intensify behind the trough. These strong winds combined with very
cold Arctic air will give freezing spray to portions of the marine
district tonight and Friday.
Marine interests are advised gale warnings are in effect all waters
Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except georges
Bank..West Scotian Slope..East Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan.
