Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:58 AM NDT 22 September 2014 A deepening low pressure system over the Gulf of Maine will track
northeastward across the Gulf of St. Lawrence this morning then out
over the Labrador Sea tonight. Gale to storm force southerlies will
spread across all waters today as the low passes, then shift to the
southwest in its wake. Winds will diminish later Tuesday as the low
moves away from the area.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Gulf, Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast, Belle Isle Bank
and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
Marine interests are also advised the high waves and pounding surf
can be expected along the southern coastline of Newfoundland later
today into tonight.
