By 3:30 p.m. NDT today departing low 966 mb located northwest
of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today cold front from 966 mb low located over
the Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT today departing cold front located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today building ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Friday high located over the northern Grand Banks.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:57 AM NDT 17 April 2014 An intense low pressure system west of Greenland will continue to
track northward today. A trailing cold front will continue across the
Grand Banks today moving east of the marine by this evening. Behind
the cold front, gale force westerlies will persist over the Belle
Isle Bank until this evening as a ridge of high pressure approaches
from the west.

Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Gulf - Port au Port,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank and the Northern
Grand Banks.
