Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM NDT 22 September 2014 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. NDT today deepening low 990 mb located over the
southern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday deepening low 970 mb located over eastern
Labrador Sea.

At 10:00 a.m. NDT today quasi-stationary high 1036 mb located
southeast of the Grand Banks.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:50 AM NDT 22 September 2014 A deepening low pressure system over the Southern Gulf of St.
Lawrence will track northeastward to lie over the Labrador Sea
tonight. Gale to storm force southerlies will spread across all
waters today as the low passes, then shift to the southwest in its
wake. Winds will diminish later Tuesday as the low moves away from
the area.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Gulf, Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast, Belle Isle Bank
and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.

Marine interests are also advised the high waves and pounding surf
can be expected along the southern coastline of Newfoundland later
today into tonight.
