At 8:00 a.m. AST today trough located south of Cape Cod.
By 8:00 a.m. AST Tuesday trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over Cape Breton Island.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:43 AM AST 9 December 2013 Strong to gale force northwesterlies over northern and eastern
Waters will gradually diminish today as a ridge of high pressure
approach from New England.
Meanwhile a trough of low pressure approaching from south of cape
Cod is forecast to move across the Maritimes tonight and Tuesday
morning to lie over Newfoundland by Tuesday evening. Strong to
possibly gale force southeasterlies are expected ahead of the
Trough. Behind the trough winds will shift to strong to possibly
Gale force westerlies.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - northern half..Cabot Strait..Gulf Magdalen -
northeastern half and Anticosti - eastern half.
Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Cabot Strait and the Gulf
of St Lawrence.
