Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NDT 19 April 2014 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line east-west over
Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT today dissipating ridge located over Belle
Isle Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 1016 mb located south of
Sable Island.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Sunday intensifying low 989 mb located over
eastern Funk Island Bank.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:56 AM NDT 19 April 2014 An intensifying low pressure system south of Sable Island will track
northeastward and pass just southeast of the Avalon Peninsula this
afternoon. The low will then cross the Northern Grand Banks this
evening before moving away to the northeast on Sunday. Strong to gale
force south to southeasterlies will spread across southeastern waters
this morning ahead of this feature. Strong to gale force north or
northwesterlies will develop over most waters behind the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle
Bank, Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand
Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effects for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank,
and Funk Island Bank.
