Issued 8:00 PM ADT 17 April 2014 An area of high pressure over the Gulf of St Lawrence will drift
toward Newfoundland tonight. Meanwhile a developing low pressure
system well south of the marine district will drift slowly northward
tonight and Friday to lie over the southern edge of East Scotian
Slope by Friday evening. Strong to gale force northeasterlies over
extreme southern waters associated with this system will diminish on
