Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 4:00 AM NST 8 December 2013 Today Tonight and Monday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 979 mb located over the East Labrador
By 4:00 a.m. NST Monday low 980 mb located south of Greenland.
At 4:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line east-west over
the North Labrador Coast.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight departing trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Belle Isle Bank.
At 4:00 p.m. NST today ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Monday ridge located over Labrador.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:58 AM NST 8 December 2013 An intense low pressure system will remain nearly stationary over the
East Labrador Sea today then slowly drift south of Greenland by
Monday. A trough of low pressure over the North Labrador Coast will
sweep across the marine district today causing gale force
northwesterlies to spread from northwestern waters to the remainder
of the Labrador Sea. Storm force northwesterly winds will diminish
over the North Labrador Coast this morning as the trough moves
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
the North Labrador Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
