By 9:30 a.m. NST Monday low 981 mb located south of Greenland.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the North Labrador Coast.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight departing trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Belle Isle Bank.
At 4:00 p.m. NST today ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Monday ridge located over Labrador.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:25 AM NST 8 December 2013 An intense low pressure system will remain nearly stationary over the
East Labrador Sea today then slowly drift south of Greenland by
Monday. A trough of low pressure over the North Labrador Coast will
sweep across the marine district today causing gale force
northwesterlies over the Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea - southeastern half.
