Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NDT 17 September 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today low 996 mb located over the Northwest
Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight departing low 994 mb located over Davis
Strait.

At 9:30 a.m. NDT today low 992 mb located over northern Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Thursday low 990 mb located over the North
Labrador Coast.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:28 AM NDT 17 September 2014 A low pressure system over the Northwest Labrador Sea will move
northwestwards into the Davis Strait today. Gale force
southeasterlies east of the low will continue over the East Labrador
Sea until this evening.

A second low pressure system over Northern Quebec will move slowly
eastward to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea on Thursday.
Gale force westerlies will develop over the Central Labrador coast
overnight tonight and move northeastward over the Labrador Sea
through the forecast period.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Mid
Labrador Coast - north of Hopedale, North Labrador Coast - Saglek and
south, South Labrador Sea, Northwest Labrador Sea - southern half,
and East Labrador Sea - northern half.
