Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PDT 30 October 2014 Tonight and Friday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today frontal system located on a line north-south
over central Vancouver Island.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing frontal system located over
the Lower Mainland.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today low 997 mb located near Cape St. James.
By 5:00 a.m. PDT Friday departing low 1004 mb located over the
North Coast.

At 11:00 p.m. PDT Friday approaching frontal system located
over Bowie.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:58 PM PDT 30 October 2014 A frontal system in a north to south line over Central Vancouver
Island will slowly move inland this evening. In the wake of the
front, a low pressure centre off cape St James will move northward
through the North Coast tonight.

Strong to gale force southeast winds ahead of the front will ease
this evening as the front moves inland. Strong to gale force
southerlies will follow the front over most central waters tonight
while moderate to strong northwesterlies develop over most of the
north.

Winds will ease to light to moderate overnight and for most of Friday
over most southern and central waters. Strong to gale force
southerlies will develop over the far north ahead of the next
approaching front Friday night.
