Issued 4:00 PM PDT 15 April 2014 Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today warm front located on a line
northwest-southeast over Bowie.
By 10:30 a.m. PDT Wednesday departing warm front located on a line
northwest-southeast over Haida Gwaii.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT Wednesday cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over southern Bowie.
By 11:00 p.m. PDT Wednesday cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over Queen Charlotte Sound.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:50 PM PDT 15 April 2014 A frontal system west of the offshore waters will move eastward to
Bowie this evening. Ahead of the warm front, strong to gale force
southerly winds will develop Wednesday morning. Waters from Northern
Vancouver Island to those in the vicinity of Haida Gwaii will be
affected.

Winds are forecast to back to strong southwesterly following the warm
frontal passage as the front travels travels northeastwards towards
the Alaskan Panhandle.

A second impulse is expected to generate another round of gale force
winds with the approach of a cold front late Wednesday. An increase
in southerly winds can be expected over Explorer late Wednesday
afternoon. Gale force winds are forecast to spread towards the
mainland coast Wednesday evening affecting waters from Hecate Strait
south to areas west of Vancouver Island.
