Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 9:30 PM PDT 11 March 2014 Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight ridge located on a line north-south over
the Lower Mainland.
By 5:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday quasi-stationary ridge located over
southern BC interior.
At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight intensifying frontal system located on
a line northeast-southwest over Bowie.
By 8:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday dissipating frontal system located on
a line north-south over Cape Scott.
At 5:00 p.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Queen Charlotte Sound.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:20 PM PDT 11 March 2014 A Pacific frontal system located on a line northeast-southwest over
Bowie this evening will move southeastward to near Cape Scott
Wednesday morning. Gale to storm force southerly winds will continue
over most parts of the central and northern waters tonight ahead of
the front. The front will then weaken dramatically Wednesday morning
as it slides southeastward towards Vancouver Island. All storm and
gale force winds are forecast to end before noon on Wednesday with
the front eventually dissipating over Vancouver Island Wednesday
afternoon. Meanwhile winds will be mostly light over the far south as
a ridge of high pressure settles over the South Coast.
