Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 10:30 AM PST 8 March 2014 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:30 a.m. PST today frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over the southern Central Coast.
By 10:00 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Lower Mainland.
At 10:30 a.m. PST today low 976 mb located northwest of Bowie.
By 5:00 a.m. PDT Sunday low 979 mb located over the northern Gulf
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:52 PM PST 8 March 2014 A strong Pacific frontal system extending in a northeast to southwest
line through Northern Vancouver Island will move southwards to lie
through the Lower Mainland late this evening, over the northern
Gulf Of Alaska a quasi-stationary 973 MB low will gradually fill.
Generally strong to gale force southeast winds will prevail to the
south of the front. Winds will shift to moderate to strong southwest
to the north of the system.
Over northern waters strong to gale force southerly winds will
gradually ease to moderate to strong southwest as the low weakens.
