Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 22 September 2014 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today weakening cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over northern Vancouver Island.
By 10:00 a.m. PDT today dissipating cold front located over southern
Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT today building ridge located on a line north-south
over Explorer.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing ridge located on a line
north-south over Queen Charlotte Sound.

At 5:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday approaching low located southwest of
Explorer.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:23 PM PDT 21 September 2014 A low pressure system over the Alaska Panhandle will weaken and move
into Yukon tonight. A cold front extending southward from the
Low will move onto the BC coast tonight. Strong to gale force
southeasterly winds ahead of the cold front will shift to moderate to
strong west or southwest behind the front over most central and
northern waters.

Meanwhile, strong to gale force westerlies have developed in the Juan
de Fuca strait this evening.

Winds will ease below gale force throughout overnight.
