Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 10:30 AM PST 20 November 2014 Today Tonight and Friday At 10:30 a.m. PST today low 997 mb located over Cape St. James.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today weakening low 998 mb located over
southeastern Hecate Strait.
At 4:00 p.m. PST today frontal system located off Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Friday frontal system located on a line north-south
over southern Vancouver Island.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 10:21 AM PST 20 November 2014 A 996 millibar low over Northern Queen Charlotte Sound will move onto
the North Coast this evening. Gale force winds around the low will
persist through this afternoon. These winds will ease late this
afternoon as the low moves inland.
A frontal system will approach the offshore waters this evening
spreading gale to storm force southeasterlies to the northern and
central waters tonight. Southeast gales will develop over the
southern waters later Friday morning. The front will cross the North
Coast late Friday morning and the South Coast late Friday afternoon.
Winds will shift to strong to gale force westerlies in the wake of
