Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 4:00 PM PDT 17 April 2014 Tonight and Friday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today departing cold front located on a line
north-south over the southern Strait of Georgia.
At 4:00 p.m. PDT today ridge located over northwestern Explorer.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Friday weakening ridge located on a line
north-south over Cape Scott.
At 4:00 p.m. PDT Friday intensifying warm front located on a line
northwest-southeast over western Bowie.
By 11:00 p.m. PDT Friday warm front located on a line north-south
over eastern Bowie.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:49 PM PDT 17 April 2014 A cold front currently north-south over South Georgia strait will
depart the region early evening. A ridge is building behind the front
with strong to gale force northwesterly winds spreading into the
southern waters. Winds will ease Friday morning as the ridge moves
onto Vancouver Island.
A deepening low pressure system will approach the offshore waters
Friday afternoon. Ahead of this system, winds will rise to gale to
storm force southeasterly over the northern and central waters and
the west coast of Vancouver Island Friday evening.
