Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 9:30 PM PST 8 March 2014 Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over central Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Sunday weakening frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Lower Mainland.
At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight quasi-stationary low 976 mb located over
the northern Gulf of Alaska.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:52 PM PST 8 March 2014 A strong Pacific frontal system extending in a northeast to southwest
line through Northern Vancouver Island will move southwards to lie
through the Lower Mainland late this evening, over the northern
Gulf Of Alaska a quasi-stationary 973 MB low will gradually fill.
Generally strong to gale force southeast winds will prevail to the
south of the front. Winds will shift to moderate to strong southwest
to the north of the system.
Over northern waters strong to gale force southerly winds will
gradually ease to moderate to strong southwest as the low weakens.
