Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 22 November 2014 Today Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 a.m. NST today low 964 mb located over southeastern
Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 960 mb located southeast of Labrador
Sea.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight approaching trough located over Quebec.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:21 AM NST 22 November 2014 An intense low pressure system over the Southeastern Labrador Sea
will slowly track eastward today to lie east of the marine district
tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterlies ahead of the low will
shift to generally gale to storm force northwesterlies in its wake.
Hurricane force northwesterlies are forecast for the Labrador coast
south of Hopedale today.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for the South Labrador Coast and Mid Labrador Coast -
Hopedale and south. Storm warnings are in effect for South Labrador
Sea, Northwest Labrador Sea - southern half, and East Labrador Sea -
northern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Lake Melville and the Labrador coast.
