Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM NDT 23 September 2014 Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 p.m. NDT today departing low 968 mb located over the coast
of Greenland.

At 4:00 p.m. NDT today trough from low located over Belle Isle Bank.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight trough from low located east of Belle
Isle Bank.

By 9:30 p.m. NDT Wednesday approaching trough located over the
Torngat Mountains.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:59 PM NDT 23 September 2014 A low pressure system over the Southwest Coast of Greenland will
weaken as it travels northwards up the coast of Greenland tonight.
A trough extends back from this low towards the Belle Isle Bank and
will move east of the district by this evening.

Generally strong to gale force northwesterlies persist over most of
the marine district in the system's wake, with storm force
northwesterlies over the northern half of the East Labrador Sea this
evening.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
East Labrador Sea - northern half. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Lake Melville.
