Issued 9:30 AM NST 21 November 2014 Today Tonight and Saturday At 9:30 a.m. NST today intensifying low 995 mb located over
northwestern Newfoundland.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Saturday low 961 mb located over the South
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:15 AM NST 21 November 2014 A low pressure system over Northwestern Newfoundland will track
northeastwards today and rapidly intensify as it moves into the South
Labrador Sea this evening. The system will then meander eastwards to
lie just south of the East Labrador Sea by Saturday afternoon. Strong
to gale force northeasterlies ahead of the low will shift to
generally gale to storm force northwesterlies in its wake. Hurricane
force northwesterlies are forecast for the Labrador coast south of

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for the South Labrador Coast and Mid Labrador Coast -
Hopedale and south. Storm warnings are in effect for South Labrador
Sea - western half and Northwest Labrador Sea - southern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Lake Melville and the Labrador coast.
