Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 4:00 AM NST 11 December 2013 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 984 mb located northeast of
Funk Island Bank.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Thursday quasi-stationary low 950 mb located
south of Greenland.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary trough from low located
over Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:55 AM NST 11 December 2013 A low pressure system to the northeast of Funk Island Bank will
deepen and move to lie south of Greenland by this afternoon where it
will remain quasi-stationary throughout the forecast period.
Gale force northeasterlies to northwesterlies will develop today over
most waters. Winds will strengthen to storm force northerlies to
westerlies overnight tonight over southern waters as the low deepens.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea -
southern half and East Labrador Sea - southern half. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake Melville. Marine
interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in effect
for all waters except the Northwest Labrador Sea and the East
