Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PST 20 November 2014 Tonight and Friday At 4:00 p.m. PST today weakening trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over Hecate Strait.
By 10:00 p.m. PST tonight weakening trough located over the
North Coast.

At 4:00 p.m. PST today frontal system located off Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Friday frontal system located on a line north-south
over southern Vancouver Island.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:00 PM PST 20 November 2014 A trough of low pressure is currently situated over Hecate Strait
And will rapidly move inland over the next few hours. A few lingering
gale force southeasterlies are expected over central coastal waters
before easing early this evening.

A frontal system will approach the offshore waters this evening
spreading gale to storm force southeasterlies to the northern and
central waters tonight. Southeast gales will develop over the
southern waters later Friday morning. The front will cross the North
Coast late Friday morning and the South Coast late Friday afternoon.
Winds will shift to strong to gale force westerlies in the wake of
the front.
