Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:30 AM PST 26 November 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:30 a.m. PST today warm front located on a line east-west
over northern Explorer.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today warm front located on a line east-west over
Cape Scott.

At 10:30 a.m. PST today cold front located west of Explorer.
By 9:30 p.m. PST tonight cold front located on a line north-south
over southern Vancouver Island.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:25 AM PST 26 November 2014 A warm frontal trough oriented east-west over Northern Vancouver
Island will continue to slowly Progress northwards towards Cape Scott
today. South of this line, a cold front will approach Explorer this
morning and make its way towards the mainland coast tonight. A ridge
of high pressure is forecast to build over the northern interior
through Thursday.

Moderate to strong east to northeast winds will prevail north of the
warm front and southwest 25 knots south off the front this morning.
As the cold front approaches winds can be expected to rise to
Strong to gale force southerly winds late in the day.

Winds will rise to east to northeast gales to 45 knots north of the
front and southerly gales to 40 knots south of the front this
afternoon as the low approaches from offshore.
