Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 10:30 AM PDT 16 April 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today warm front located on a line
northwest-southeast over southern Haida Gwaii.
By 7:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing warm front located on a line
northwest-southeast over the southern Alaska panhandle.
At 6:00 p.m. PDT tonight intensifying cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over southern Bowie.
By 5:00 p.m. PDT Thursday departing cold front located on a line
north-south over the southern Strait of Georgia.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 10:45 AM PDT 16 April 2014 A warm front currently lies northwest to southeast just off
Haida Gwaii. Ahead of the warm front, strong to gale force
southeaseterly winds will occur today from Northern Vancouver
Island to Dixon Entrance.
Winds are forecast to ease to strong southwesterly behind the
Warm front as the feature continues northeastward toward the Alaskan
Panhandle early this evening.
Another round of gale force winds is expected with the approach of a
cold front late today. Southerly winds will increase over Explorer
late this afternoon. Strong to gale force southeasterlies are
forecast to spread toward the mainland coast this evening affecting
waters from Hecate Strait south to areas west of Vancouver Island.
