Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PDT 31 October 2014 Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today building ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Cape St. James.
By 5:00 p.m. PDT Saturday ridge located on a line north-south over
central Vancouver Island.

At 9:00 p.m. PDT tonight intensifying frontal system located on
a line north-south over western Bowie.
By 11:00 a.m. PDT Saturday frontal system located on a line
north-south over Hecate Strait.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:58 PM PDT 31 October 2014 A Pacific frontal system will reach the northern offshore waters
tonight and will cross Haida Gwaii early Saturday morning. The front
will then slowly make its way through the North Coast during the day
Saturday. Gale force south or southeast winds will develop over the
northern waters tonight ahead of the approaching front, then spread
to the central waters during the day Saturday. Winds will shift to
strong west or southwest in the wake of the front. Meanwhile, winds
will remain light to moderate over the south.
