Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:02 AM PDT 18 April 2014 A low well offshore this morning will deepen to 970 MB as it
approaches offshore waters this afternoon. The low will send a cold
front to the coast tonight causing winds to rise to southeast storm
force winds up to 55 knots ahead of the front. Hurricane force near
70 knots are likely near the headlands of Vancouver Island overnight
and early Saturday morning. Winds will ease to strong to gale force
midday Saturday over coastal waters as the front reaches the
BC coast.

A secondary system swinging around the primary low will bring a
strong warm front to the coastal waters late on Saturday and a
Return to gale or marginal storm force winds out of the southwest up
to 45 knots over Bowie. As these winds reach the North Coast
Saturday evening, southerly gales near 35 knots are forecast.
