Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM PDT 23 May 2013 Tonight and Friday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight quasi-stationary ridge located west of
the offshore waters.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight trough located from the North Coast to
Cape Scott.
By 10:00 a.m. PDT Friday trough located from Hecate Strait to Cape
Scott then to the Washington Coast.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:45 PM PDT 23 May 2013 A ridge of high pressure will remain just outside the offshore
Waters while a trough of low pressure lies over Eastern Queen
Charlotte Sound. Strong to gale force northwesterly winds south
And west of Haida Gwaii are expected to ease this evening. The
Trough will move westward across the central waters tonight,
Causing some locally strong southeasterlies near Northern Vancouver
Island and the Central Coast. Meanwhile, winds will be mostly light
to moderate over the inner South Coast.
