Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM PST 26 November 2014 Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight cold front located on a line north-south
over central Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 a.m. PST Thursday departing cold front located over the
Lower Mainland.

At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over Queen Charlotte Sound.
By 10:00 p.m. PST Thursday cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over southern Vancouver Island.

At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight building ridge located over northern
BC interior.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:29 PM PST 26 November 2014 A low pressure system over Northern Explorer will track towards the
Central Coast tonight. A cold front extending south from the low will
cross the South Coast tonight.

Gale force northeasterlies north of the low will back to strong
northwesterlies as the low passes. Ahead of the cold front, strong to
gale force southeasterlies shift to strong southwest winds in its
wake.

On Thursday a trailing cold front will cross Vancouver Island through
the day. Strong to gale force south or southwesterlies ahead of the
front will shift to strong northwesterlies in its wake.

An Arctic high will continue to build over the Northern BC Interior
giving gale force outflow through the Northern Mainland inlets.
