northwest-southeast over northern Haida Gwaii.
By 7:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing warm front located on a line
northwest-southeast over the southern Alaska panhandle.
At 4:00 p.m. PDT today intensifying cold front located southwest
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday departing cold front located on a line
north-south over the southern Strait of Georgia.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 4:23 PM PDT 16 April 2014 A warm front from just north of Haida Gwaii to Hecate Strait will
move onto the Southern Alaska Panhandle this evening. Marginal gale
force southeasterlies will persist over Dixon Entrance and Hecate
Strait for the next few hours.
Another round of gale force winds is expected to develop tonight with
the approach of a cold front. South to southeast gales will develop
over Northern Vancouver Island, the central and northern waters this
evening and marginal southeast gales will reach southern waters
overnight or early Thursday morning. The cold front will move east of
the Lower Mainland late Thursday afternoon.
Behind the cold front, westerly gales will develop over the offshore
waters and west of Haida Gwaii overnight and continue through the day
