Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:28 PM PDT 24 October 2014 A low pressure system will remain nearly stationary tonight over the
northern offshore waters. Strong to localized gale force south or
southeast winds will continue over most northern waters this evening.
Winds will ease to moderate to strong later tonight as the low
weakens. On Saturday, a low pressure centre is forecast to move
northeastward through Northwestern Washington, leading to local gale
force easterlies developing near the southern tip of Vancouver Island
early Saturday morning. Winds will then back to northwest later
Saturday with westerly gales forecast through Juan de Fuca strait and
widespread northwesterly gales developing off the west coast of
Vancouver Island and over Explorer.
