Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:30 AM PDT 28 July 2014 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
north-south over northern Vancouver Island.

At 10:30 a.m. PDT today cold front located over the central
offshore waters.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT tonight cold front located over Haida Gwaii.

At 10:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday cold front located over the Mainland
Coast.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:27 AM PDT 28 July 2014 A low will form well offshore this morning and will head
northeastward reaching Haida Gwaii tonight.

Winds over central offshore waters and near Haida Gwaii will rise to
strong to gale force south or southeast to 35 knots today ahead of
the low. Winds will ease tonight or early Tuesday as the low reaches
the mainland coast.

Strong to gale force westerlies will develop near the east entrance
of Juan de Fuca strait late this afternoon as a ridge of high
pressure settles over Northern Vancouver Island.
