Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 24 October 2014 Today Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today low 996 mb located over northern Bowie.
By 5:00 p.m. PDT Saturday weakening low 996 mb located 60 miles
southwest of Sandspit.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT today building ridge located over southern BC
interior.

At 11:00 a.m. PDT Saturday approaching low 994 mb located off the
Washington Coast.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 24 October 2014 A low pressure system will remain nearly stationary today over the
northern offshore waters. Strong to localized gale force south or
southeast winds will prevail over most northern waters today. Winds
will ease to moderate strong later today as the low weakens. On
Saturday, a low pressure centre is forecast to move northeastward
through Northwestern Washington, leading to local gale force
easterlies developing near the southern tip of Vancouver Island early
Saturday morning. Winds will then back to northwest later Saturday
with westerly gales forecast through Juan de Fuca strait and
widespread northwesterly gales developing off the west coast of
Vancouver Island and over Explorer.
