Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:30 AM PDT 30 October 2014 Today Tonight and Friday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today frontal system located on a line north-south
over northwestern Vancouver Island.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing frontal system located over
the Lower Mainland.

At 10:30 a.m. PDT today low 997 mb located over northwestern
Explorer.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing low 997 mb located over the
North Coast.

At 11:00 p.m. PDT Friday approaching frontal system located
over Bowie.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:27 AM PDT 30 October 2014 A frontal system in a north to south line over the northern tip of
Vancouver Island will slowly move inland this afternoon. In the wake
of the front, a low pressure centre over Explorer will move northward
through the North Coast this evening.

Gale to storm force southeast winds ahead of the front will ease this
afternoon as the front moves inland. Strong to gale force southerlies
will follow the front over most central waters later this afternoon
and this evening while moderate to strong northwesterlies develop
over most of the north.

Winds will ease to light to moderate overnight and for most of Friday
over most southern and central waters. Strong to gale force
southerlies will develop over the far north ahead of the next
approaching front Friday night.
