Issued 3:30 PM ADT 30 August 2016 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. ADT today low 995 mb located east of Newfoundland.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT today intensifying tropical depression 8 located
at 34.2N 75.3W.
By 3:00 p.m. ADT Wednesday intensifying tropical depression 8
located at 36.4N 72.9W.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT today Hurricane Gaston 968 mb located at 32.4N
52.4W.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Wednesday Hurricane Gaston 975 mb located at
35.9N 45.6W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:15 PM ADT 30 August 2016 A low pressure system east of Newfoundland will continue to move off
to the east tonight. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will
diminish tonight behind the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau.

At 3PM ADT hurricane Gaston is located near 32.4 degrees north
And 52.4 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are 90 knots. Minimum
central pressure is about 968 MB. Gaston is moving east-northeast at
7 knots.

Note that Gaston is forecast to pass well south of Canadian waters.

As of 3PM ADT tropical depression 8 is located near 34.2 degrees
north and 75.3 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are 30 knots.
Minimum central pressure is about 1011 MB. It is currently
quasi-stationary.

The depression could become a tropical storm tonight. There is
uncertainty about the development of the storm, however current
guidance has the storm tracking over the southern slope waters late
Thursday and into Friday.
