Issued 8:00 PM NDT 20 September 2017 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Belle Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Thursday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the northern Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight Tropical Storm Jose 976 mb located at
39.3N 68.9W.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Thursday Tropical Storm Jose 983 mb located at
39.7N 67.5W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:57 PM NDT 20 September 2017 A trough of low pressure over Belle Isle Bank will move to lie over
the Northern Grand Banks Thursday morning then east of the district
by the afternoon. Strong southwesterlies ahead of the trough will
become strong to gale force northwesterlies over eastern waters on
Thursday in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and the Northern Grand Banks.

As of 8:00 PM NDT tropical storm Jose is estimated to be at 39.3
north 68.9 west with a central pressure of 976 MB, maximum wind speed
of 60 knots, and is moving to the northeast at 7 knots. Jose is
forecast to become nearly stationary on Thursday and remain offshore
of the Eastern Seaboard through Sunday. Jose is not expected to have
any impact on Newfoundland waters during this timeframe.
