Issued 3:30 PM NST 6 February 2016 Tonight and Sunday At 3:30 p.m. NST today intensifying low 965 mb located northeast
of Funk Island Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday departing low 952 mb located southeast
of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 1005 mb located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 1002 mb located over the northeastern
Gulf of St. Lawrence.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
the Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the eastern Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:22 PM NST 6 February 2016 An intense low pressure system northeast of Funk Island Bank continue
northeastward out to sea tonight.

Gale to storm force northwesterlies over most waters will diminish
overnight as a ridge approaches from the west. Hurricane force
northwesterlies over Funk Island Bank will diminish to gales this
evening as the low moves out to sea.

A second low pressure system will approach from the west on Sunday
and cross the Gulf of St. Lawrence to lie over the Great Northern
Peninsula Sunday evening. Strong to gale force southerlies ahead of
the low will veer to strong to gale force westerlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Funk Island Bank. A storm warning is in effect for the
Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Strait of Belle Isle - western half and Gulf waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, the Gulf waters, East Coast - north
of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island
Bank.
