of Funk Island Bank.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:25 PM NST 5 February 2016 A low pressure system off the us Eastern Seaboard is expected to
steadily deepen as it tracks northeastward to lie northeast of the
Funk Island Bank as an intense storm by Saturday afternoon.
Strong to gale force northeasterlies will develop over western waters
as the low approaches the district and then back to gale force
northwesterlies in its wake. Southerly gales will develop ahead of
the low over eastern waters and veer to gale to storm force west to
northwesterlies in its wake. The northwesterlies are expected to
reach hurricane force over the Funk Island Bank.
Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Funk Island Bank. Storm warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast, Northeast Coast - Cape St.
John and south and the Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle - western
half and Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, the Gulf waters, East Coast - north
of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island
