By 3:00 a.m. NDT Thursday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Avalon Peninsula.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today Tropical Storm Jose 974 mb located at
38.3N 70.4W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:57 AM NDT 20 September 2017 A trough of low pressure over Southeastern Labrador will move to lie
over Eastern Newfoundland on Wednesday night. Strong southwesterlies
ahead of the trough will become strong to gale force northwesterlies
over eastern waters on Thursday in its wake.

As of 3:00 AM NDT tropical storm Jose is estimated to be at 38.3
north 70.4 west with a central pressure of 974 MB, maximum wind speed
of 60 knots, and is moving to the northeast at 8 knots. Jose is
forecast to become nearly stationary on Thursday and remain offshore
of the Eastern Seaboard through Sunday. Jose is not expected to have
any impact on Newfoundland waters during this timeframe.
