Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:28 PM NST 26 January 2015 An intense low pressure system located northeast of the Labrador Sea
will continue tracking northeastwards away from the marine district.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies associated with this low will
diminish to strong over most waters by this evening.
A trough of low pressure from this low over the South Labrador Sea
will swing across the Belle Isle Bank tonight. Gale to storm force
west to northwesterlies will develop over northern waters near
On Tuesday, an approaching warm frontal trough will bring gale to
storm force easterlies to southern and Gulf waters by afternoon.
Winds will shift to gale force southwesterlies over southern waters
by Tuesday evening.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank - northeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect all
remaining waters except the Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the South Coast, East Coast - Cape St.
Francis and south and the Grand Banks.
