Issued 3:30 PM NST 9 February 2016 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 978 mb located southwest of the Burin
Peninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight dissipating low 990 mb located near The
Bonavista Peninsula.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough from 978 mb low located on a line
east-west over southern Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday quasi-stationary trough located from
the Gulf of St. Lawrence to Funk Island Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 989 mb located south of Nova Scotia.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 973 mb located over Funk Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:29 PM NST 9 February 2016 An intense low pressure system south of Newfoundland will dissipate
as it moves over the island this evening. Gale to storm force east to
northeasterlies ahead of this system will shift to gale force
southwesterlies to its south.

Meanwhile a second low will approach from the southwest tonight and
cross the Avalon Peninsula early Wednesday to lie over Funk Island
Bank Wednesday afternoon. Gale to storm force south to
southwesterlies are forecast to develop to the southeast of the low
with gale force westerlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Southwest Coast and the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect
for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast and the
Belle Isle Bank.
