Rain with a risk of thunderstorms changing to snow or rain this morning and ending near midnight. Flurries Sunday evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation.

Issued 3:00 AM NST 21 January 2017 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line east-west over
Belle Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST today weakening ridge located north of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 970 mb located over the southeastern
Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday departing low 969 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:45 AM NST 21 January 2017 An intense low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will
continue along the southeast edge of the marine district today.
Over eastern waters, gale to storm force northeasterlies ahead of the
low will shift to gale to storm force northwesterlies in its wake.
Winds will diminish to strong to gale force northwesterlies
throughout the day on Sunday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island Bank and the
Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except the Gulf waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast and Belle Isle Bank.
