of the Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight Tropical Storm Jose 987 mb located at
39.6N 67.9W.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Friday Post-tropical Storm Jose 988 mb located
at 39.6N 69.1W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:47 PM NDT 21 September 2017 A low pressure system northeast of the Grand Banks will continue to
move away from the district tonight. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies over eastern waters will diminish tonight as the low
moves away.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and the Northern Grand Banks.

As of 6:30 PM NDT tropical storm Jose is estimated to be at 39.6
north 67.9 west with a central pressure of 987 MB, maximum wind
speeds of 45 knots, and is quasi-stationary. Jose is forecast to
slowly weaken as it remains nearly stationary off the Eastern
Seaboard through Sunday. Jose is not expected to have any impact on
Newfoundland waters during this timeframe.
