Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 4 March 2015 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NST today intensifying trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing low 967 mb located east of
Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the eastern Marine District.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing ridge located northeast of
the Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:28 PM NST 4 March 2015 A trough of low pressure over the Gulf of St. Lawrence will develop
into a low pressure system while tracking over Newfoundland this
evening. This low will then move northeastward to lie east of Belle
Isle Bank by Thursday morning. Gale to storm force southerlies over
southern waters ahead of this feature will veer to strong to gale
force west to northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except the Strait of Belle Isle, the Northeast Gulf and Belle Isle
Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Grand Banks.
