Issued 3:30 PM NST 23 February 2017 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today departing low 983 mb located northeast of
the Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 995 mb located over the Gaspe
Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Friday departing low 996 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:20 PM NST 23 February 2017 A low pressure system northeast of the Grand Banks will continue to
move away to the east this evening. Over southeastern waters, gale
force northwesterlies behind the low will diminish as it moves away.

A second low pressure system will approach from the west tonight.
The low will track eastward across Northern Newfoundland Friday
morning, then move east of the district later in the day. Strong to
gale force southwesterlies can be expected south of the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast, Funk
Island Bank - southern half, Northern Grand Banks and Southeastern
Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast, and
Belle Isle Bank.
